BESPREEK PHILIP MOOLMAN AS SANGER / M.C.
Dan is daar sy gewilde "Philip & Vriende" vertoning, of die Neil Diamond Tribute - opsie: Philip se jaarlikse Neil Diamond Tribute show "Hot August Night" trek elke jaar vol huise by Die Blou Hond Teater-restaurant.
Philip het ook baie jare se ondervinding as seremoniemeester by korporatiewe funksies, skole, kerke, kroningsplegtighede ens.
HOT AUGUST NIGHT - A TRIBUTE TO NEIL DIAMOND, WITH PHILIP and FRIENDS IN THE SECOND SET – AFTER MAIN COURSE - by residential "hound" Philip Moolman:
Philip Moolman's Neil Diamond Tribute is being regarded (by both the public and the press) as one of the best Neil Diamond Tributes, locally or abroad. The power of the show is not dependent on the size of the orchestra, or audio-visual effects, but lies in the power of the artist's voice. It is a simplistic show: guitar and voice only. The show is performed annually at Die Blou Hond theatre restaurant. For the past 5 consecutive years, shows were fully booked (for the whole duration of August) and often had to be extended into September, as a result of public demand. It takes the audience on a journey in search of "Love". The journey starts - searching for love in various ladies, with songs such as: Shilo, Solitary Man, Desiree, Cherry, Cracklin Rosie, Sweet Caroline, You Babe, Love on the rocks, I am I said, Summer Love, Play Me, Longfellow Serenade, Song Sung Blue, Forever in Blue Jeans etc. The journey in search of "Love" shifts focus, from the physical, to the spiritual realm, with songs like Holly Holy, Canta Libre, Morningside, Soolaimon, and songs from Neil Diamond's Jonathan Livingston Seagull Album. The show is moving, romantic, inspiring, and the standard cliche feedback from both Afrikaans and English audiences - having attended the show - is that Philip Moolman sounds more like Neil Diamond, than the man himself!
After mains Philip Moolman calls his Friends or guest artists on stage: getting (both Afrikaans and English) audiences to "roll in the isles" with his immitations of artists, such as: The Bee Gees, Nataniël, Steve Hofmeyer, Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, Pavarotti, Julio Iglesias, John Denver, David Kramer, Gé Korsten, Bob Dylan, Chris Chameleon, Johan Stemmet, Dozi, Karen Zoid, Koos Kombuis, Theuns Jordaan and many more... ending with his own inspirational Afr. & Eng. compositions.
